After just under a quarter of a century the steamiest movie scenes still belong to Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke from their 1986 classic ’9 1/2 Weeks’, those in front of the refrigerator scenes have been acclaimed as the Sexiest Moments in Cinema, according to members of LOVEFiLM’s UK based website.
The online rental DVD store asked their customers which movies offered the sexiest scenes and 9 1/2 weeks came out the winner. Not too far behind was the leg crossing moments from Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct. In at number three was Latin heartthrob Gael García Bernal having fun in a threesome in the Mexican movie Y Tu Mamá También.
Monster’s Ball is next on the list due to the living room floor scene delivered by former model Halle Berry, that may have helped to secure her Oscar for best actress that year.
If comedy S&M is more your thing then you probably would have gone along with the romantic comedy Secretary which was next on the list and starred Maggie Gyllenhaal back in 2002, giving her the number five position.
In at number six either for the ménage à trois with Matt Dillon, Neve Campbell and Denise Richards, or possibly just for the two girls in action without the help of Matt Dillon, Wild Things from 1998 is still held dear in many people’s minds.
Somewhat surprisingly Maggie’s brother Jake Gyllenhaal is next on the list for his antics in Brokeback Mountain with Heath Ledger
Mulholland Drive was a popular movie in no short part because of Naomi Watts and Laura Harring spending the night together, that was the eighth sexiest moment in Cinema according to the poll.
Another very memorable scene is the elevator ride from Fatal Attraction which saw bunny boiler Glenn Close and Michael Douglas threw themselves wholeheartedly into the scene. A number 10 are the Brad Pitt Angelina Jolie team from the house smashing scenes in Mr & Mrs Smith
Missing from the list are several notable scenes not least of all from Titanic, Ghost and Body of Evidence
