Tom Cruise will take on another Mission impossible

Paramount has confirmed the previous reports there will be a Mission Impossible IV starring Tom Cruise.  Outside of taking on the lead role, Cruise will also be the producer for the film, which is due to open in 2011, on Memorial Day weekend, along with the aid of JJ Abrams who worked on the last installment of the franchise.

The studio is looking for directors but the scriptwriting team of Andre Nemec and Josh Applebaum has been hired.  The duo has worked with Abrams before on the ABC television drama, Alias.

Details for the project are being kept mum without a start date for production, although Cruise is planning on working on this film next after the release of Knight & Day this coming July.

In the past John Woo (MI2) and Brian De Palma have also been named as potential directors so this title is still open for winning.
