Postman Pat will be 3D kids movie sensation

The animated Cumbrian mailman Postman Pat is set to star in an upcoming 3D movie, in which he discovers he has an amazing singing voice and becomes an overnight TV sensation.
The film is due out in 2011 and features Pat as a contest winner on a show similar to Britain’s Got Talent. After his win he becomes a household name, and even gets to meet a character much like Simon Cowell.
In the face of his new success, Pat must choose between his quiet rural existence and stardom. Toss in Jess the cat gets into a fight with a rival animal, owned by a postal manager and you have a thrilling aspect to the film.
Classic Media spokesman Andrew Karr said that the film will utilize stop motion animation made popular by the BBC series, but that it will be enhanced with 3D effects and computer generated imagery.
Postman Pat has been a childhood favourite since he was created in 1981. Since then his series has even been broadcast as far as away as the Philippines, China, and Iran.
This is not the first time that Pat will take a break from the traditional life of a mailman as last year he was promoted to head of the Special Delivery Service in Pencaster, and given a new eco-friendly van to run around the neighbourhood in.
Additionally, he received a new minivan, a helicopter for tough deliveries, and a motorbike that even had a special sidecar built in for Jess.
