Kristen Stewart who is known best as the lead female role in the ‘Twilight Saga’ will bring her best indie performances once again to the Sundance Film Festival for the third year in a row.
This year she will be presenting ‘The Runaways’ and ‘Welcome to the Rileys’ to the indie critics at Sundance with Runaways already receiving a fair amount of positive buzz from film buffs.
‘The Runaways’ also features lead roles by Michael Shannon and Dakota Fanning in a film that documents the history of the first all-girl rock band. Although the movie is not perfect, critics are commenting that it stays clear of the obvious clichés and that the actors accurately define the characters with excellent performances by Fanning and Stewart.
Fanning is said to steal the film in her role as Cherie the lead singer of the band however Stewart gives her a powerful run for her money in her role as Joan Jett on the electric guitar. According to critics Stewart aptly drives the movie in dark clothes and a cropped dark haircut. Of course, given her notoriety as Bella Swan, Stewart is no stranger to the dark side.
Other critics stated that with a great soundtrack and spot on portrayal of the band The Runaways may experience a great bump in sales as new fans get interested in their 70’s tunes.
‘The Runaways’ comes with an ‘R’ rating due to its strong images and language and should start popping up in theatres after March 19th.

I really agree with the folks over at netbookspoint.com the iPad is going to be a huge hit. The geeks don’t like it, but it’s not for them. The vast majority of people are going to really enjoy the ease of browsing the web, having access to books at the tip of their finger, and downloading and watching videos on the couch or on the road. I think Apple knows more about what they’re doing than the script kiddies.
