Its official Clint is America’s number one movie star

Denzel Washington was knocked from his three year reign as America’s favorite movie star according to the annual Harris Poll, by Clint “get off my lawn” Eastwood.

Eastwood, who is best known for his work in “Dirty Harry” and “Gran Torino”, won the vote among men.

Sandra Bullock, at age 45, took the top honors for the most popular actress for her role in “The Blind Side” coming in 4^th place overall out of both genders.  Bullock received most of her votes from the same age group of woman, 33-44 in particular those from the South.

Johnny Depp climbed back up the chart as well taking second spot after an eighth place finish last year, and, big surprise, received most of his votes from women of all ages.

Harrison Ford dropped off the top ten, which is not surprising given he was not been on the screen in 2009, but it is surprising that so did Will Smith and Angelina Jolie both of whom have managed to stay in the limelight throughout most of the year.

Rounding out the top five Denzel Washington landed in the number three slot and Tom Hanks landed in fifth place.  The last bottom half of the top ten was filled by actors George Clooney (6^th), Morgan Freeman (9^th), and John Wayne (7^th) and actresses Meryl Streep (8^th) and Julia Roberts (10^th).
