On January 27th Apple introduced the iPad to the general public which it hopes will change the way that the world views multimedia.
Steve Jobbs, the head of Apple, released the device at San Francisco press conference yesterday as a tablet computer that in reality is just a supersized and supercharged version of the iPhone that weighs in at 15 pounds and is a half inch thick.
The iPad will come equipped with news features, HD movies, YouTube access, and much more. The intention of the device is to make it easy to watch video of pretty much anything at anytime.
The iPad is available in a 16GB model or a 64CB model which will run the average consumer $499 and $829 respectively. It comes with a battery life of around ten hours and the largest screen yet from an Apple mobile device measuring in at 9.7 inches.
In the background of the release, Apple has also been hard at work building an HD movie catalog on iTunes which is poised to now help launch the accessibility and use of the iPad device.
The digital movie player is the same iTunes model that the iPhone uses and is easy to synch with any personal computer uploading content in the same manner an iPod uploads tunes.
The iPad will likely increase in value as time passes since it will open to third party applications like the iPhone which will soon hit the market once the models hit the market in 60-90 days depending on where you live.
